Publication Date 10.12.2018

To mark the International Day of the Girl Child, 30 girls from 5 Kosovo municipalities have participated in Girls in Technology event which involved visits to the Air Navigation Services Agency (ASHNA) and to the local company, Zombie Soup. They have been supported, empowered and motivated by the event's activities that aimed to break the stereotype of a gender-dominated occupation.

“Everything is possible if you work hard for what you want to achieve in life” – said Urtina Morina, an 11th grade student from Xhevdet Doda school.

The visit to the Air Navigation Services Agency gave girls a practical experience of the work that needs to be done in order to safely land and take-off a plane. At Zombie Soup, girls were introduced to web development, artificial intelligence, VR games etc. This activity was facilitated by IPKO Foundation, UNICEF Kosovo Program, and USAID After School Support for Teens (ASSET) Program.
